Gambit defeat Entropiq 2
Gambit picked up right where they left off before the winter break, showing great form to win their first event of the year undefeated.
Gambit won the FunSpark ULTI 2021 Finals after taking out Entropiq in the tournament’s best-of-three grand final which pitted the two Russian teams against each other for the second time since the tournament’s start. It was also a replay of last year’s V4 Future Sports Festival grand final, which was played on LAN with Konstantin "groove" Pikiner’s men going on to lift the trophy.
The first time the two teams met in the FunSpark ULTI Finals was in the second upper bracket round after Gambit beat Complexity and Entropiq knocked ECSTATIC down to the lower bracket, with Vladislav "nafany" Gorshkov and company winning two out of the three maps played on that ocasion comfortably to remain on the upper bracket.

Some of the biggest names in the tournament were the other two teams sent to the lower bracket in the first round, namely Astralis and fnatic, with the Danes taking the Swedes out before being eliminated themselves at the hands of Entropiq whose Aleksei "El1an" Gusev was the deciding factor in the third map with a 1.94 rating and 37 frags in 29 rounds.
Dmitry "hooch" Bogdanov’s men continued through the lower bracket against ECSTATIC and BIG, making it past the Germans in the consolidation final on the same day as the grand final, which they played with only an hour break between matches. Despite the win the consolidation series was no walk in the park, as El1an and company brought the satch back from the brink of elimination on Nuke, turning a 4-11 deficit at the half into a 16-14 victory with a solid CT showing.

Gambit hit the ground running in the grand final, taking it to Entropiq on their map pick by wearing down their countrymen early on and securing 9-6 half as Terrorists before stealing a 3vs5 retake in the second pistol round to hit double digits. From there on out it was Abay "HObbit" Khassenov and company who dominated, securing the map 16-7.
Entropiq didn’t let up despite losing the pistol round as CTs on Dust2, going on a five round streak to make it 5-2 before Gambit were able to fight back, regaining the lead 6-5 in what ended up being a close half that went the way of their rivals, 6-9. Doubles by El1an and Aleksei "NickelBack" Trofimov secured the second pistol round for the attacking team, but once again on the defense Gambit locked the map down 16-12 to claim the title undefeated.
